In this article we will cover how positive thoughts can change your life to be the driving force to push you forward in the direction you want to go. We will also look at what we speak audibly over our life with our tongue can help or hinder our progress.
When I was in my young twenties, I was introduced about the power of positive thinking. I further learned over time that the thoughts we think and speak audibly with our tongue over us have a cosmos effect on us. Your thoughts become your words both positive and negative. The energy of our positive thoughts and what we speak can determine our destination what we want and desire. This is the amazing results of positive thinking and speaking out those words.
I Can Do This
There are many good books that are written about positive thinking. I mentioned I was introduced to positive thinking in my young twenties from a few books I started to read on the subject. I had thought I was thinking positive before, but soon realized I was not. I thought of myself of a person of faith and I tried to believe and think the best about my circumstances.
I didn’t realize my thought process was heading in the wrong direction. I was not really controlling my thoughts. I was excepting my negative thoughts to dominate my thinking. As well, I was speaking out loud those negative thoughts about myself.
I believe this hindered me to make any progress in my life at the time. I got to the place I was stuck. I thought my life was done and felt trapped that I could not make any changes to improve my life. After being involved in a religious organization after eight years from sixteen to twenty-four, I thought I was too old to make any changes. I realized how ridiculous that was now. At the time it was very real to me.
My brother gave me a copy of “The Magic of Thinking Big” a self-help book. This book was the seed I needed to build my individual confidence that life was not over. I could make new goals for my-self. The other book was “Think and Grow Rich.” It was those two books that gave me the determination to go to college and get a degree and start a new direction.
I thought my time was over and lost my window to go back to college. I was already married and had two children. None of my siblings went to go college. Except, my older sister decided to attend college eventually. My parents had the money to help them, but they decided something different for themselves. When I did decide to go to college, it was too late. My parents were divorced and had little money themselves struggling to make a new life for themselves.
I learned from those positive attitude books that I did have choices. I changed my thinking and what I said about myself verbally with my tongue. I made some changes to set new goals. I made a determined goal. I can do this. I went ahead to join the Oregon National Guards to help finance part of my college. I completed out the financial aid forms and college paper work. That was difficult the first time to do. I made the move with my family to live by the college campus and finished college. It took me longer than I thought, but I was persistent with our growing family.
Over time, I slipped into bad habits and narrowed my thinking again and put limits on myself. I started to speak my negative thoughts with my tongue that put a curse on myself. Every time I did that, my progress slowed down.
I caught myself being negative. I started to feed my mind again with positive thinking and speaking positive over myself until I reached a new level of confidence. I would take the risk to step out of my comfort zone and make a new goal.
I discovered through the years I was practicing positive thinking and speaking positive thoughts with my tongue audibly. It always made a difference when I made the effort even when I did not feel like it. It is a life style change to practice what you preach.

The Power of The Tongue
The greatest instrument that can accomplish great things or harm is our tongue. The Bible refers the power of the tongue as a small rudder that will fight through the winds in a storm and current or cause a ship to wreck. Which direction do you want to go?
Thinking positive thoughts will not do us any good if we do not control our tongue to watch what we say. With the mouth we can bless or curse ourselves and others. It has the power of life and death.
